Chief Technology Officer

Position Overview

The Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) within Terex Corporation is seeking an experienced Chief Technology Officer to spearhead its digital strategy. This role is pivotal in advancing ESG's software, AI, data, and connected technologies, aimed at creating substantial customer value, increasing recurring revenue, and reinforcing ESG's status as a frontrunner in environmental services technology.

Primary Responsibilities

• Direct and implement ESG’s comprehensive digital product and technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with business growth objectives.
• Drive growth of SaaS offerings, AI capabilities, data integration, and connected asset solutions to boost recurring revenue and user adoption.
• Originate and commercialize new digital business ventures and revenue models.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Marketing, and other business units to maintain cohesive execution.
• Oversee the digital product suite including 3rd Eye®, Soft-Pak®, Connected Collections®, telematics, video intelligence, AI, and data platforms.
• Formulate scalable platform approaches and promote reusable, efficient technologies organizationally.
• Lead innovation enhancing product uniqueness and expanding market share.
• Manage global teams in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, AI, and data science disciplines.
• Implement modern software development methodologies such as cloud-native architectures, API-first design, and DevOps practices.
• Ensure platforms uphold industry-leading standards in security, scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Establish architecture standards, governance, and engineering best practices.
• Design and oversee AI, machine learning, computer vision, and generative AI strategies and solutions to improve fleet operations, safety, and efficiency.
• Build enterprise-wide data analytics capabilities and advanced insights platforms.
• Partner with senior management on strategy, investments, and mergers and acquisitions.
• Manage budgets for technology with priorities to maximize business returns.
• Communicate technology vision, progress, and results to executive leadership.
• Attract, mentor, and lead globally distributed high-performance teams fostering engagement and excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Over 15 years in technology leadership roles, including more than 10 years overseeing software engineering, SaaS, or digital product organizations.
• Proven successes in building and growing recurring revenue digital enterprises.
• Strong expertise with cloud platforms, AI/ML technologies, and software architecture best practices.
• Experience managing large, global technology teams.
• Excellent communication skills, executive presence, and stakeholder management aptitude.
• Preferred experience in IoT, telematics, fleet management, or industrial technology sectors.
• History of increasing ARR, product adoption, customer engagement, and retention.
• Proficient in delivering scalable, high-performance platforms and AI-driven solutions.
• Experience managing technology budgets above $10 million annually.
• Willing to travel approximately 30-35% of the time.
