Job Overview

Based in Chennai, this role demands 2 to 4 years of experience in domains such as Driveline, Axles, Suspension, Brakes, and HVAC/Thermal systems. The candidate will be responsible for designing automotive parts including brake components, suspension parts, driveline elements like mounts, forks, housings, brackets, driveshafts, and clutch assemblies (DMF / Clutch Release System) for new vehicle programs, ensuring manufacturability and assembly compatibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D CAD designs and 2D drafts for automotive components using CATIA, focusing on driveline and associated parts.
• Perform articulation studies, packaging, and interface clearance evaluations to ensure precise component fit and function.
• Conduct design reviews emphasizing Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and obtain approvals from quality teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with powertrain, vehicle integration, and other teams to incorporate design input and clearance requirements seamlessly.

Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in automotive parts design, particularly in driveline, axles, suspension, brakes, HVAC, or thermal systems.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5 and experience with 3D CAD modeling and 2D drafting.
• Familiarity with design and interface clearance studies for automotive component integration.
• Adept at working in team environments with multiple engineering functions and departments.
