Role Overview

We are currently recruiting a Category Buyer for our Procurement and Supply Chain team based in Singapore. This position involves managing tender and contract processes, monitoring supplier performance, spearheading cost optimization efforts, and assuring adherence to procurement policies. You will be instrumental in driving operational efficiency and establishing robust supplier relationships.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization through spend analysis, benchmarking, and close collaboration with stakeholders.
• Lead negotiations for new and renewing contracts ensuring alignment with procurement objectives such as cost efficiency, simplification, and enhancing stakeholder satisfaction.
• Ensure all stakeholders are informed about and utilize contracts appropriately.
• Verify that vendors and contractors comply with procurement requirements including safety, ethical sourcing, and responsible procurement standards.
• Maintain accurate contract pricing data within company systems for consistent application.
• Support audit processes related to vendor management, ensuring timely resolution of audit actions.
• Provide purchasing and commercial guidance to various stakeholders during tendering and business development tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2 to 3 years’ experience in a comparable procurement or supply chain role backed by relevant tertiary education.
• Training background in Supply Chain or Procurement preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with strong skills in MS Excel.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Outstanding planning and organizational capabilities.
• Understanding of the importance of maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
