Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Cashier offers a valuable opportunity to enhance your retail industry expertise. In this role, you'll provide outstanding customer service throughout the checkout experience, fostering strong customer loyalty. You will also play a critical role in protecting company assets by diligently monitoring for loss prevention.

Key Duties

• Warmly greet every customer in a courteous and approachable manner.
• Efficiently handle purchase transactions, including deactivating merchandise per the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) Program.
• Advertise and encourage participation in company-sponsored initiatives such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable campaigns.
• Assist shoppers with packing and loading their purchases.
• Adhere to safe work practices including proper lifting techniques and maintaining a tidy workspace.
• Ensure the security and accuracy of the cash register through careful cash handling and compliance with company policies while staying alert to surrounding activity.
• Refer customers to a Customer Service Manager for specialized assistance or complex transactional matters as needed.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $18.00 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
