About The Role

The Cases Lead – Pacific oversees the operational management of case law content for the Pacific region, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality, timeliness, accuracy, and AI-readiness. This role acts as the regional key contact regarding all case law operations, guiding editorial workflows, tracking performance, fostering improvements, and managing relationships with both internal teams and external content partners.

This position is pivotal in transforming legal publishing towards intelligent content delivery by structuring legal materials to be enriched, searchable, analytically valuable, and compatible with emerging customer research behaviors and generative AI product features.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the editorial processes involved in case law delivery across Pacific jurisdictions.
• Monitor operational benchmarks including editorial metrics, service levels, quality controls, and timely content delivery.
• Maintain high editorial standards, consistency, and compliance with company publishing guidelines.
• Serve as the main regional liaison for case law related operational matters.
• Develop and manage partnerships with courts, reporters, vendors, licensors, and external providers.
• Drive and manage operational projects, workflow enhancements, and regional initiatives.
• Champion adoption of AI-empowered editorial methods and actively engage in testing cutting-edge technologies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Technology, Data Science, Editorial, and Commercial teams to enrich legal content and improve customer experience.

Requirements

Education

• LLB degree or equivalent legal qualification is mandatory.
• Additional certifications or practical experience in legal technology, artificial intelligence, publishing, or project management are beneficial.

Experience

• Background in legal practice, publishing, legal research, or editorial operations is preferred.
• Experience handling legal content, case law analysis, or legal information products is required.
• Exposure to digital publishing, legal technology, or AI-supported workflows is advantageous.

Legal & Editorial Skills

• Strong abilities in legal research and analysis.
• In-depth understanding of case law and legal systems in Australia and New Zealand.
• Exceptional reading comprehension and editorial judgment.
• Capability to identify emerging legal trends, issues, and customer research needs.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• High precision and attention to editorial detail.

Digital & AI Competencies

• Good awareness of AI and generative AI developments in legal publishing and research.
• Knowledge of AI-ready content principles, metadata management, and structured legal content.
• Flexibility and adaptability to new legal technologies and AI-enhanced editorial environments.
• Familiarity with legal research platforms, content management systems, and digital publishing software.
