About the Role

Equans UK & Ireland is seeking a dedicated Caretaker to join the team at Newcastle Fire Station, located at Elswick NE4 6HL. This is a full-time permanent position with working hours of 37 per week. The role offers a competitive annual salary of £25,460 along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Shift Schedule

• Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 15:30
• Friday: 07:30 - 15:00

Key Responsibilities

The Caretaker will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of services provided to Tyne & Wear Fire and Rescue Authority by Equans at their Private Finance Initiative (PFI) properties. Duties include ensuring completion of scheduled tasks within designated timelines and adhering to relevant standards and procedures.

This role involves performing a variety of planned preventative maintenance tasks based on established schedules and industry guidelines. Additionally, the Caretaker will log any issues identified on-site and take appropriate measures following up on assigned jobs. As a customer-facing position, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in facilities management or operational delivery of FM services
• Previous supervisory experience is advantageous
• Comfortable working in a front-facing, customer-oriented environment
• Possession of a full, clean driving licence is mandatory
• Ability to obtain enhanced DBS clearance and successfully pass BPSS level vetting
