Overview
We are seeking a freelance Brand Manager for a duration of 1-3 months to work remotely with our CPG client. This role requires managing brand strategy, product positioning, and collaborating across marketing, sales, and trade teams to achieve tangible business outcomes in the consumer packaged goods and retail sectors. The weekly workload varies between 20 and 40 hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute detailed brand strategies and annual marketing plans aimed at meeting sales, market share, and profit goals across different SKUs and distribution channels.
- Perform on-demand analyses utilizing sales and market insights data.
- Review updates for SKUs, including approval of artwork and proofs.
- Forecast new product launches, coordinating with operations for product supply and sales teams for distribution planning.
- Guide products through the stage-gate development process.
- Manage product lifecycle activities such as new launches, packaging modifications, and SKU rationalization.
- Lead cross-functional teams consisting of marketing, research and development, supply chain, and finance to deliver projects, promotions, and product launches promptly and within budget.
- Track and analyze brand performance metrics including sales, margins, and market share, and propose strategies for improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in brand management in the CPG or retail industry or similar experience progressing from Associate Brand Manager roles.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize Nielsen and retail syndicated data to generate insights for commercial decision-making.
- Proven track record managing multiple SKUs, product launches, and lifecycle management projects.
- Understanding of the stage-gate product development process.
- Excellent skills in project management, cross-department coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and experience analyzing consumer and sales data.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, including experience developing creative briefs and working with agencies.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and deliver under tight timelines in a fast-moving environment.
