About Flow Ecommerce and the Role
Flow Ecommerce is a pioneering venture focused on revolutionizing ecommerce operations by automating routine tasks traditionally required for scaling brand portfolios across marketplaces. The company operates by purchasing stock directly from brands and selling across Amazon and other marketplaces in the UK and Europe, with an ambition to architect a more efficient commercial model.
This senior commercial position, reporting directly to the founders, is based primarily in Munich (preferred) or London, requiring significant European travel and an innovative approach to brand portfolio management without reliance on external investment or typical corporate runway pressures.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary senior liaison for a portfolio of brands, maintaining strategic relationships at founder and commercial director levels from initial engagement through onboarding to annual planning.
- Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, volume commitments, marketing contributions, territorial scopes, pricing policies, and distribution strategies.
- Own and manage comprehensive P&L responsibilities across channels, including marketplaces and owned D2C channels, involving costs such as landed price, advertising spends, returns, storage, FX, and cost-to-serve.
- Make strategic decisions about channel allocation to optimize contribution margins and determine brand portfolio composition, including exiting underperforming partnerships.
- Collaborate with the CTO to define and implement automated systems (agents) for repetitive brand management tasks such as catalogue management, advertising optimization, forecasting, and reporting, continuously refining the operating model.
- Drive efficient onboarding and growth of new brands across multiple European marketplaces, focusing on minimizing time to live and transitioning the portfolio to automated systems.
- Lead a compact team of experienced brand managers aligned with the company’s model emphasizing efficiency over scale.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience managing brands or accounts on Amazon platforms, with emphasis on UK and German markets; experience across multiple European marketplaces is highly valued.
- Prior responsibility for a D2C channel’s commercial P&L, understanding pricing and inventory interplay between marketplaces and owned channels.
- Proven ownership of full P&L management including planning, contribution margin analysis, and detailed cost controls rather than solely reporting gross sales.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with senior brand stakeholders to maintain commercial terms and relationships.
- Strong data proficiency including building financial and operational models independently to influence decision making.
- Experience working with automation tools or agentic operating models to streamline commercial processes; ability to articulate role as a set of reproducible processes.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in German is a significant advantage; knowledge of other European languages is a plus.
Personal Attributes
The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and detail-focused, possessing mature judgment necessary to operate in a small, senior leadership team without intermediate management layers. They demonstrate curiosity, a strong sense of ownership beyond their immediate scope, and the ability to build trust within the organization and with external partners. Success metrics focus on productivity indicators like brand count per person, onboarding velocity, and cost efficiencies rather than headcount or traditional activity benchmarks.
Compensation and Recruitment Process
This position offers a competitive base salary, performance bonuses linked to portfolio contribution margin, and equity participation, all negotiable based on candidate experience. The hiring process emphasizes quality over speed, involving thorough commercial discussions and transparency about remuneration before commitment.
