Job Overview
Reporting to the Assistant Manager or Night Supervisor, this role involves officiating basketball matches at county venues, handling a spectrum of duties related to game officiation.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply basketball rules accurately according to age categories and league guidelines.
- Implement recreation department policies and regulations.
- Maintain the safety and security of players and audience members.
- Respond to public questions and offer necessary information.
- Perform routine upkeep and maintenance of the basketball courts.
- Execute other assigned tasks as needed.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
- In-depth understanding of basketball regulations.
- Effective conflict resolution and communication skills to handle potentially confrontational situations.
- Capability to operate independently and cooperatively within a team.
- Adherence to instructions and diligent completion of tasks.
- Physical fitness adequate to fulfill the demands of officiating games.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relations with colleagues and the public.
Additional Requirements
- A valid Utah Driver's License with a clean driving history.
- Access to a telephone for communication.
- Flexibility to accommodate variable working hours tied to game schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Willingness to undergo a background check before employment.
Physical Demands
