Role overview
An opportunity is available for an energetic and committed Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Inpatient Therapy Team at Newark Hospital. The post offers the chance to work in a supportive setting while helping patients recover, regain function and leave hospital safely and on time.
What you will do
You will work across inpatient wards to evaluate, treat and support rehabilitation for patients with varied clinical presentations. The role involves contributing to discharge planning and delivering care across Sconce and Castle Ward, where patients transferred from King’s Mill Hospital receive ongoing rehabilitation, as well as Minster Ward, a day-case area for elective orthopaedic patients.
Development opportunity
This position may suit an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist or a Band 5 clinician who is ready to progress and strengthen skills in rehabilitation, orthopaedics and managing more complex patients. You will be part of a welcoming multidisciplinary team focused on high-quality, patient-centred care.
About the Trust
Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust works with health and social care partners across the county to deliver acute and community services to more than 420,000 people in Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, and areas of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire. The organisation places patients first and expects staff to treat colleagues with the same care, respect and kindness they would want for their own family. It describes itself as clinically led and has been recognised as the best acute Trust to work for in the East Midlands for seven consecutive years in the National NHS Staff Survey. The Care Quality Commission has rated the Trust as outstanding for care, and King’s Mill Hospital is the only NHS-run hospital in the East Midlands to hold an outstanding rating.
Visa and sponsorship notice
Not every position in the Trust qualifies for visa sponsorship. Eligibility depends on the shortage occupation list for Skilled Worker visa healthcare and education roles. Current Home Office guidance, updated on 9 April, also notes that people who need to switch visa type may not qualify for sponsorship even when the role appears on the shortage occupation list.
