Associate Tester

Position Overview

This role focuses on using automated testing techniques to identify and resolve software defects, assuring high quality for company products. It involves executing comprehensive test plans to validate software functions and collaborating with development engineers for issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and document software bugs for analysis purposes.
• Maintain detailed records of test outcomes and performance metrics.
• Develop foundational knowledge of security principles, including database protections and encryption, progressing to conduct security and vulnerability assessments.
• Validate and verify data within databases and learn to test ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes including data mapping and integration workflows.
• Collaborate effectively with developers, data engineers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and flow.
• Communicate testing results clearly to team members and support issue resolution.
• Work alongside senior testers to help develop and document test plans and strategies.
• Engage in database testing activities, including executing scripts, reporting anomalies, assisting in ETL verification, testing migrations/upgrades, and maintaining documentation.
• Expand skills in data profiling and quality analysis by identifying patterns and trends to spot data quality issues.
• Learn scripting languages like Python or SQL to automate testing and improve efficiency.
• Understand and utilize advanced testing frameworks and tools tailored for database testing.
• Participate in quality management activities including quality control, verification of data processing, defect isolation, and providing recommendations for defect fixes or process improvements.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of the organization's products, respond to customer inquiries, and contribute technical feedback.

• Basic understanding of Information Technology concepts.

• Fundamental knowledge of SQL and database structures.
• Excellent attention to detail and conscientious approach.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Willingness and eagerness to learn evolving technologies and testing methodologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Preferred Credentials

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience totaling at least 2 years in relevant roles.
• Ability to organize and manage automated and manual test scripts.
• Experience creating thorough test reports for internal and client use.
• Competence in defect management processes.
• Familiarity with database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
• Knowledge of data validation and ETL operations.
• Exposure to database testing tools and development of scripts or basic programming.
