Assistant Test Manager — SIT, UAT, Manual Testing

Overview

Ascendion is seeking an Assistant Test Manager to support a major enterprise IT initiative in Singapore. The position is suited to someone who is comfortable with practical test execution, disciplined planning, defect coordination, and working across technical, business, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and carry out manual, functional, regression, integration, SIT, UAT, and end-to-end testing activities.
• Develop and keep updated test plans, scenarios, cases, scripts, reports, and supporting test evidence.
• Monitor testing status, surface risks early, and work with the appropriate teams to remove blockers.
• Record defects, track them through retesting, and drive them to closure in partnership with developers and technical specialists.
• Contribute to defect triage by evaluating issue severity, priority, and readiness for closure.
• Liaise with project managers, developers, system engineers, and business users throughout testing and release phases.
• Support the Test Manager with task allocation, tester guidance, and progress tracking.
• Assist with deployment verification, production validation, and operational readiness checks when needed.
• Provide support for basic API testing or automation-related tasks where relevant.

Required Experience and Skills

• At least 4 years of experience in software testing or QA.
• Strong practical experience in manual, functional, regression, integration, SIT, and UAT testing.
• Ability to create clear and structured test cases, scenarios, scripts, and reports.
• Good working knowledge of the software testing life cycle.
• Experience handling defects from logging through monitoring, retesting, and closure follow-up.
• Confident communication skills for working with project teams, developers, business users, and stakeholders.
• Background in supporting junior testers or coordinating test efforts is preferred.
• Exposure to API testing, Postman, REST APIs, Playwright, or automation testing is an advantage, though not required.
