Role Overview and Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and guarantee compliance with fire and life safety standards at the hotel, aligning with NFPA guidelines, local legislation, and internal safety policies.
• Perform daily evaluations to detect and immediately rectify hazardous conditions, fire risks, or unsafe employee behaviors throughout the premises.
• Regularly inspect, maintain, and test all fire protection and life safety systems, including hydrants, hose reels, extinguishers, alarms, emergency devices, and related apparatus.
• Test emergency equipment and systems periodically, ensuring all maintenance documentation and logs are accurately updated.
• Ensure readiness and functionality of backup power generators, emergency lighting, evacuation routes, emergency exits, and other critical emergency infrastructure.
• Inspect electrical installations, heaters, wiring, and equipment to confirm safe operational conditions and eliminate fire hazards.
• Implement and monitor fire safety protocols during hotel events, functions, and special occasions.
• Coordinate regular fire drills, safety seminars, and training sessions to build and sustain a comprehensive safety awareness culture among staff.
• Communicate unsafe conditions and necessary corrective steps with department heads and the Chief Engineer, following through to confirm resolution.
• Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, incidents, and related documentation, whilst consistently exhibiting a professional and proactive attitude.

Candidate Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience in managing hotel fire and life safety programs in compliance with NFPA standards and local laws.
• Proficiency in conducting hazard assessments and daily safety inspections.
• Hands-on experience with fire protection system maintenance, testing, and record-keeping.
• Ability to evaluate and maintain emergency systems, backup power sources, and emergency egress routes.
• Competence in inspecting electrical and mechanical systems to ensure safety and adherence to fire prevention standards.
• Experience organizing and delivering fire drills and safety training events for diverse teams.
• Effective communication skills to report hazards and collaborate with multiple departments for issue resolution.
• A committed professional approach with a focus on fostering a strong safety culture.
