About the Role
Join a rapidly expanding leader in trenchless infrastructure as an Assistant Project Manager, supporting diverse projects in the utility and construction sector. With a strong focus on safety and teamwork, this position bridges both office and field operations, ensuring projects stay on track and communication is seamless.
Main Responsibilities
- Participate in pre-bid planning, including reviewing documents, coordinating scope, and preparing bid materials.
- Order, organize, and maintain plans, specifications, and other project documentation.
- Gather information for estimates such as quantities, pricing from vendors, and subcontractor details.
- Ensure accurate completion of bid submissions and proper management of supporting documents.
- Set up organized project files and administer contracts by monitoring key deliverables and deadlines.
- Assist with integrating projects into internal systems for effective tracking.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and operations staff to execute project plans and manage schedules.
- Monitor budgets, support cost management, and identify discrepancies early.
- Review invoices, change orders, and cost projections for compliance with project requirements.
- Track permits, approvals, submittals, and maintain accurate project records.
- Serve as a point of contact between field teams, clients, subcontractors, and internal departments.
- Coordinate logistics, resolve on-site issues, and address customer needs swiftly.
- Attend site visits, project meetings, and calls as necessary.
- Support reporting efforts by preparing progress updates, maintaining cost records, and contributing to performance analysis.
- Assist general office operations and administrative tasks related to active projects.
- Regularly interface with field personnel to support project delivery and realign as required.
- Balance several projects in a dynamic, deadline-driven atmosphere.
- Take initiative in identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Preferably holds a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a similar discipline.
- One to three years' background in construction, utilities, or infrastructure, with experience in underground or industrial projects advantageous.
- Proficient communicator able to work with both field and office teams.
- Highly organized with a keen eye for detail and follow-through.
- Capable of juggling several assignments and shifting deadlines.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); understanding of project management or ERP tools is beneficial.
- Basic knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, and workflow processes.
- Analytical approach with a proactive mindset and strong commitment to safety and field operations awareness.
