Job description

Position Overview and Daily Duties

This role involves working as a Project Coordinator on a contract basis for six months, located in Toronto, Ontario, with a requirement to be onsite at least three days a week. Key daily tasks include monitoring incoming service requests through platforms such as Jira Service Desk and Outlook mailboxes, and serving as the first contact point for internal partners.

  • Initial review and validation of security assessment requests to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordination with third-party vendors, enterprise application teams, and other stakeholders to schedule security assessments satisfying enterprise and regulatory compliance.
  • Developing and maintaining program schedules, identifying milestones, and proactively managing potential delays or issues in security assessment engagements.
  • Guiding and managing security assessment activities, including timely responses to queries related to policies, standards, issue management, and security processes.
  • Maintaining documentation and process materials such as process documents and team connect pages.
  • Preparing various reports for management and executive stakeholders, including metrics and audit-related information.
  • Supporting senior management in vendor management tasks.

Technical Tools Utilized

The position requires practical experience with:

  • Jira for service request tracking and coordination.
  • Microsoft Outlook for communication management.
  • Microsoft Excel for reporting and data analysis.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience working within large IT organizations managing operational services, PMO functions, or overseeing multiple project implementations.
  • Strong multitasking abilities to handle numerous incoming requests efficiently and promptly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of IT development and information security principles.
  • Basic knowledge of project management frameworks and methodologies, including Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and secure development practices.
  • Capability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-changing environment where priorities frequently shift.
  • Self-driven with the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
