Prince Sultan University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is hiring for its College of Engineering, specifically within the Communications and Networks Engineering Department, for the Academic Year 2026/2027 beginning in August 2026. The university is recruiting faculty at the ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor in Electrical Engineering.

Role Summary

The appointed faculty member will contribute to undergraduate teaching, scholarly research, and departmental service. Teaching assignments will be shaped by the candidate’s academic background and subject expertise, with emphasis on Electrical Engineering instruction.

Teaching Areas

The instructor may be assigned to teach undergraduate subjects such as Electrical Circuits, Electronics Engineering, Advanced Electronics, Power Electronics, Semiconductor Design, Logic Design, Senior Design Project, and other closely related Electrical Engineering courses.

Academic and Research Requirements

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline from a reputable, accredited institution. A strong research track record is expected, including publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, along with the ability to build a long-term and sustainable research agenda.

Interest or experience in nanoelectronics, microelectronics, VLSI design, or semiconductor devices is especially valuable, particularly for supporting the development of a Nanoelectronics Center within the department.

Preferred Background

Additional strengths that will be viewed favorably include hands-on experience with electronic design automation tools such as Synopsys and Cadence for IC design, simulation, and verification; work in analog or digital VLSI design, layout, or fabrication; exposure to advanced CMOS, RFIC, system-on-chip design, or mixed-signal circuits; and prior participation in funded research, industry partnerships, or technology development activities.

Preference will also be given to candidates with professional certifications, relevant industry experience, affiliations with internationally recognized universities or research centers, or a proven ability to secure external research funding and contribute to interdisciplinary work.

Employment Terms and Benefits

This is a one-year renewable full-time contract, subject to renewal based on the Dean/Director’s assessment and student evaluations. The university states that compensation will be competitive and aligned with academic qualification, rank, and teaching experience.

Additional benefits include medical coverage for the employee and eligible dependents living in the Kingdom, transport allowance, annual round-trip tickets for eligible family members, a two-month paid summer vacation, and two local paid holidays of about 15 days each, where applicable. The university also provides school tuition support up to Saudi Riyals 30,000 for children studying within the Kingdom, with contract terms defining the details.

Housing support will be provided either as free furnished accommodation with essential utilities and maintenance, subject to availability, or as a housing allowance depending on academic rank. End-of-service gratuity is offered each year starting from the second year of continuous service, provided the faculty member has completed at least two years.
