Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Assist the Buyer in shaping and developing seasonal product collections.
- Collaborate with the Merchandise Team and Buyer to prepare seasonal reviews and strategize upcoming plans.
- Provide support in creating customer-focused and trend-informed product ranges.
- Maintain and enhance product quality through rigorous sample and fit evaluations.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and fashion movements to inform buying decisions.
- Proactively research and suggest new product opportunities to strengthen the brand and boost sales.
- Manage communications with suppliers related to sample requests and order details.
- Support negotiations with suppliers to secure optimal pricing and margins.
- Handle in-season order management including repeats, cancellations, and schedule adjustments.
- Manage development timelines and ensure adherence to important deadlines.
- Communicate product updates effectively to Wholesale, Press & Marketing, and Visual Merchandising teams.
- Oversee and manage the Buying Admin Assistant’s workload and performance.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as an Assistant Buyer in the fashion industry.
- Deep passion for fashion with a strong understanding of upcoming trends.
- Confident, personable, and self-driven with a positive attitude.
- Experience supervising an administrative assistant.
- Exceptional attention to detail complemented by a proactive and initiative-taking approach.
- Excellent commercial acumen and ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal communication skills.
