Role overview
Repco is looking for an Assistant Branch Manager to join its Whakatane branch in a hands-on leadership position. This is a full-time onsite role, working Sunday to Thursday for 41.5 hours each week. The role offers a chance to grow into branch leadership within a busy store, supported by a strong training and development culture, staff discounts, and a knowledgeable team.
What the role involves
You will work closely with the Branch Manager and act as a key presence on the shop floor. The position requires someone who can help roll out new ideas, stay connected with both customers and team members, and keep service standards consistently high. You will also support customers in choosing the right products for their needs while helping the branch run smoothly and perform well.
- Assist the Branch Manager in driving sales and improving store results
- Guide, motivate, and organise the team day to day to build a positive workplace culture
- Deliver accurate advice and excellent customer service
- Handle both retail and trade transactions
- Develop strong relationships with customers and colleagues
- Maintain a high standard of presentation across the branch
- Follow company policies and operating procedures
- Help build a strong safety culture by putting safety first and ensuring everyone makes it safe and gets home safe
Working conditions
This position involves physical activity, including lifting, bending, and climbing.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate will bring prior supervisory or leadership experience, along with at least 2 years in retail or a similar trade-focused environment. A good understanding of automotive products is preferred, although a willingness to learn is also valued. Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and careful attention to detail are important for success in this role.
