Architect

Position Objective

This role involves creating and implementing architectural design solutions for new retail outlets, store extensions, renovations, and adaptive re-use initiatives across the organization's portfolio. The incumbent ensures the delivery of functionally sound, aesthetic, and regulatory-compliant designs within budgetary limits, consistent with brand identity, and fully integrated into the construction process.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and showcase initial and detailed architectural concepts, layout plans, and feasibility analyses.
• Work collaboratively with internal brand teams and project stakeholders to convert functional needs into practical design outcomes.
• Use AutoCAD, Revit, and related design software to generate 2D and 3D plans, visualizations, and architectural documentation.
• Coordinate architectural contributions with mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), structural, and interior design disciplines for seamless project delivery.
• Prepare and file planning applications, tender documents, and construction blueprints compliant with corporate and regulatory standards.
• Maintain precise documentation for specifications, material quality, and finishes aligned with brand guidelines.
• Oversee project budgets to ensure designs adhere to cost and scheduling requirements without sacrificing quality.
• Ensure all designs comply with local building regulations, safety protocols, accessibility standards, and environmental laws.
• Detect and address risks related to design throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform ongoing site inspections to confirm construction adheres to design intent and resolve on-site architectural challenges.
• Support project managers and contractors during execution by clarifying design intentions and addressing design-related queries.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and material proposals to verify design conformity.
• Engage with brand leadership, project managers, senior designers, and suppliers to communicate design goals and align expectations.
• Present design plans to senior management for approval and contribute to value engineering and optimization efforts.
• Participate in post-project evaluations to gather insights and improve future design processes.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution; professional certification is advantageous.
• Have a minimum of 5 years of advancing architectural design experience, ideally in retail, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of building regulations, retail layout planning, construction methods, and local permissions.
• Be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and similar architectural software.
