About the Role
We are seeking a leader for the Arabia Go-To-Market (GTM) Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) and Security function. This pivotal role is dedicated to overseeing safety, health, environmental, and security protocols across Unilever’s non-manufacturing operations throughout the Arabia region—including KSA, UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait. The scope covers head offices, sales offices, warehousing, road safety initiatives, transportation, and other related operations. The position reports directly to the PTAB GTM SHE Manager and is based in either Jeddah, Saudi Arabia or Dubai, UAE.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and uphold SHE and office security strategies across GCC’s non-manufacturing sites.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable local regulations, Unilever’s internal standards, legal registers, and governance requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive risk evaluations, emergency readiness plans, and assurance measures.
- Oversee office safety and security protocols including fire safety, emergency drills, contractor and visitor management, as well as access control systems.
- Conduct security risk assessments and ensure timely corrective measures are implemented effectively.
- Champion road safety practices for sales teams, company and shuttle vehicles, and third-party transport providers through journey management, defensive driving, telematics, dashcam monitoring, fatigue control, and speed regulation programs.
- Monitor third-party logistics providers for compliance with Unilever’s Minimum Mandatory Requirements, performing audits, gap analysis, site inspections, and compliance checks, with follow-up on corrective actions and escalation of critical issues as needed.
- Lead thorough investigations into incidents across offices, road transport, logistics activities, and contractor operations, driving root cause analyses and implementation of learning and corrective action verification.
- Develop and execute compliance roadmaps and assurance frameworks across the Arabia region.
- Design and deliver targeted SHE and security training for diverse audiences including employees, sales teams, contractors, warehouse staff, and transport partners.
- Initiate and promote engagement campaigns inspiring a Zero Harm culture through leadership involvement and employee awareness.
- Track, analyze, and report on performance indicators relating to SHE, security, road safety, and logistics, actively managing incident trends, audit results, corrective action progress, telematics data, and training completion metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives throughout the region.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Security Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH IGC or Diploma, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent credentials.
- Demonstrated experience managing SHE programs across multiple countries and sites.
- In-depth familiarity with office safety, contractor oversight, emergency procedures, road and logistics safety, and security management.
- Proven expertise in warehouse and transportation safety compliance.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience within multinational FMCG, logistics, supply chain, transportation, retail, industrial, or distribution sectors.
- Background managing SHE in non-manufacturing environments.
- Experience collaborating with third-party logistics and contractors.
- Strong background in auditing, assurance, and compliance management.
- Familiarity with GCC regional regulations and operational contexts.
