About the Role
United Engine & Machine Co. (UEM Pistons) is looking for a highly organized and proactive Administrative Manager to efficiently manage daily administrative operations supporting a multi-state workforce. Reporting directly to the President, this pivotal and dynamic position coordinates activities among employees, leadership, vendors, and external partners to ensure smooth operational flow.
Key Responsibilities
The Administrative Manager will oversee various essential functions such as employee onboarding support, workers' compensation coordination, document and asset management, maintenance of office policies, and managing relationships with vendors. Collaboration with the Managed IT Service Provider to handle technical support and software deployments is also a core part of the role.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
The ideal applicant enjoys multitasking, problem-solving, and adapting to new technologies in a fast-changing environment. Candidates should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline (preferred).
- At least four years managing office operations, business administration, or comparable administrative roles.
- Minimum one year of Human Resources experience, including administration of employee benefits such as health insurance and 401(k) plans, comprehensive knowledge of employment laws, workers' compensation, leave administration, and HR compliance.
- At least two years providing basic IT support and working alongside managed IT service providers, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS systems, and office management software (e.g., DocuSign), plus the capacity to swiftly learn new systems.
Work Schedule and Location
This position is full-time, onsite at Carson City, Nevada. The workweek consists of four 9-hour days from Monday to Thursday and a half-day (4 hours) on Friday. Additionally, the role involves approximately two annual trips to the Arizona location, each lasting one week.
