About the Role
BRT, Inc., a growing transportation company based in Parkesburg, PA, is searching for a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to join their Finance team. This full-time position offers a hybrid work arrangement after the probationary period, balancing office presence with remote work. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, team-centered environment and take pride in meticulous accuracy and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Accurately and promptly process vendor invoices
- Prepare payments via electronic transfers and checks
- Maintain accurate vendor records and reconcile statements
- Manage purchase cards and employee expense reimbursements
- Handle 1099 reporting and ensure year-end compliance
- Assist with deposits, ACH transactions, and loan reconciliations
- Make journal entries and perform account reconciliations
- Support monthly and annual financial closing processes
- Contribute to financial reporting and audit preparations
- Cross-train in Accounts Receivable and support wider accounting functions
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Preferred minimum of five years' accounting experience
- Extensive knowledge of Accounts Payable processes
- Strong organizational abilities and efficient time management
- Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Office suite
- Capable of balancing multiple deadlines independently and within a team
- Positive demeanor with strong communication and customer service skills
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range: $58,000 to $66,000, commensurate with experience
- Full-time salaried role
- Hybrid schedule: two days remote per week following probation
- Standard work hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
