Accounting Clerk

Overview

Variety Foods Ltd. is hiring an accounting clerk for its Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador location.

Language Requirement

English fluency is required for this role.

Education

You should have an other trades certificate or diploma, or bring an equivalent level of relevant experience.

Experience

This position calls for 5 years or more of experience.

Work Arrangement

This is an on-site role. The job must be performed at the physical workplace, with no remote-work option available.

Work Setting

This role is based in the private sector.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and keep accounting records up to date.
• Create journal entries accurately and on time.
• Handle accounts receivable activities.
• Manage accounts payable tasks.
• Prepare trial balances for review and reconciliation.
• Complete bank reconciliation work.
• Generate invoices for clients.
• Follow up on overdue accounts and collect payments from debtors.
• Carry out clerical duties, including filing and record management.
• Support day-to-day general office administration.

Computer and Technology Knowledge

Experience with Sage Accounting Software, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word is expected.
