Role Overview
The A/C Technician will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and repair of temperature regulation and air quality systems within the hotel environment. Core duties include both preventative maintenance and reactive repairs to ensure optimal functioning of refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain electrical and mechanical refrigeration systems including freezers, refrigerators, ice makers, fan coil units, and chillers.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on all air-conditioning and refrigeration installations throughout the hotel.
- Monitor performance of refrigeration components and systems.
- Inspect and verify proper operation of door closing devices such as gaskets and latches on walk-in coolers and freezers.
- Maintain defrosting mechanisms and automation systems of ice makers.
- Address maintenance requests from various hotel departments promptly.
- Perform regular cleaning of fan coil units and filters in air-handling units.
- Evaluate functioning of air-conditioning and chilled water systems for efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering peers to diagnose faults and establish operational setups for air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.
- Strictly manage and prevent release of refrigerants like CFCs into the atmosphere.
- Overhaul air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment when necessary.
- Monitor refrigeration fluid and oil levels and oversee major repairs.
- Coordinate with Engineering Storekeeper regarding procurement of necessary parts.
- Ensure all repair and maintenance work complies with local technical regulations and safety standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Applicants must possess valid training certificates from recognized technical or vocational institutions.
- A minimum of one year experience working in a hotel engineering department is required.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and electrical diagrams is essential.
- Experience with VRF/VRV air-conditioning systems is considered advantageous.
