About the internship
About Nishchhal Dhara
Nishchhal Dhara is a nonprofit organization committed to alleviating stress by creating community-driven solutions. Their 4C's initiative—connects, counselling, communities, and collaboration—aims to provide trustworthy networks, innovative ideas, and opportunities fostering personal and professional growth without deception or added stress. This inclusive program supports people irrespective of gender, age, or abilities, helping individuals thrive socially, academically, and professionally.
Internship Overview
The internship focuses on creating a support framework within IIT Delhi campuses to assist students in managing stress and pursuing their genuine interests without compromising academics. Unlike traditional counselling, the role emphasizes building mechanisms that empower students to explore passions and tackle everyday challenges through collaborative community engagement.
Campuses often witness students strained by academic and social pressures, leading many ideas to fade without support. This initiative works alongside existing campus groups and societies to augment resources without disrupting current structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage actively with students and campus groups including wellbeing, technical, cultural, and sports societies to understand their challenges.
- Identify solutions and assess whether additional assistance or partnerships with external entities (Samaaj, Sarkaar, Bazaar) are needed.
- Provide feedback to Nishchhal Dhara to ensure campus mechanisms are grounded in real student experiences.
- Contribute to designing and refining the support systems under development.
- Operate within natural campus environments such as student areas and hostels rather than offices or formal settings.
Candidate Eligibility
- Current IIT Delhi students from any year or department; all are encouraged to apply.
- Preference for individuals active in campus societies or hostel networks who understand student life.
- Must have a genuine interest in improving campus life, beyond just enhancing their resume.
- Strong listening skills and willingness to initiate constructive dialogues with student groups.
- Interest in understanding community and system functioning.
- Motivation to co-create a novel campus support mechanism.
