About The Role
The Workplace Programs Facilitator is responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive educational workshops focused on various aspects of workplace mental health and psychological health and safety. This role involves both in-person and virtual facilitation to organizational clients, as well as supporting administrative tasks including data collection and evaluation. The facilitator reports directly to the Manager of Workplace Programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct extensive research and compile resources on workplace mental health, psychological health and safety, occupational health and safety, and related subjects tailored to a diverse client base across multiple sectors and business sizes.
- Review a wide range of materials including media sources, academic and gray literature, and insights from people with lived mental health experiences to inform workshop content.
- Prioritize inclusive and intersectional perspectives in all deliverables and processes.
- Create both standard and customized workshops starting from research and content development to initial drafts, collaborating with the Communications & Marketing Department for finalization.
- Lead engaging workshops adhering to health guidelines for COVID-19 when in-person, and utilizing adult learning best practices for both physical and virtual sessions.
- Collaborate with other facilitators to foster a supportive branch environment and manage joint client relationships.
- Expand the workplace education portfolio by developing new topics and delivery formats such as asynchronous online courses.
- Produce and refine plain-language educational materials complementing workshop content, including articles, website content, and takeaway summaries.
- Maintain and enhance existing workshops and online courses through ongoing quality improvements.
- Compile and analyze workshop participant feedback to inform program enhancements.
- Support departmental operations including invoicing and administrative processes.
- Carry out additional related tasks as necessary.
Candidate Profile
- A bachelor's degree or higher in human or social services disciplines such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling.
- Holder of a valid class 5 driver’s license with access to a reliable insured vehicle.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in adult education, workshop facilitation, course instruction, or similar roles.
- At least two years of relevant experience or combination with certifications in psychological health and safety, occupational health and safety, leadership, or human resources.
- Strong public speaking and facilitation capabilities, skilled at tailoring presentations for both general and professional audiences.
- Ability to execute standardized trainings with fidelity while effectively managing unplanned questions or disruptions.
- Proficient in adult learning theories applicable to synchronous and asynchronous learning environments.
- Excellent critical thinking and research skills to source and interpret credible information from academic, expert, and lived experience perspectives.
- Demonstrated talent for translating complex health information into clear, accessible educational resources.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced technological literacy.
- Experience with learning management systems (e.g., Articulate 360, Thinkific) and web publishing tools (e.g., WordPress, Strapi) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with graphic design software like Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Leadership experience and cross-sector work exposure add value to the candidate profile.
- Mental health education credentials or experience driving workplace psychological health initiatives are considered assets.

Working Conditions
- This is a full-time, one-year term position with a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours until October 1, 2027.
- Typical working hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with any overtime requiring prior approval.
- The role is based in the Vancouver office, with a hybrid arrangement including remote work, office days, and travel to client sites across British Columbia as needed.
- The position requires regular use of a personal vehicle for work-related travel within the Lower Mainland and other BC locations.
- The job is unionized under the Health Science Professionals Bargaining Association, offering an hourly wage range of $44.85 to $56.02.
