Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Warehouse Officer to join our team full-time at the Telarah location in New South Wales. This position supports the smooth functioning of Gemco Rail’s warehousing processes and ensures all reporting requirements are met. The role reports directly to the Supply Chain Coordinator NSW and works closely with the stores team.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage both inbound and outbound product handling activities and record transactions accurately within the ERP system.
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely while following established safety protocols.
Pick and pack products according to operational needs.
Distribute materials efficiently to production lines as required.
Organize warehouse storage to optimize space utilization.
Coordinate freight bookings and liaise with couriers and freight forwarders.
Load and unload trucks and company vehicles appropriately.
Inspect incoming goods for any defects or damage and follow up with suppliers as necessary.
Ensure safe stacking and storage of items to avoid damage.
Generate purchase requisitions and orders to align with production needs.
Assist with month-end administrative tasks associated with material movement.
Perform any other related duties as assigned within job scope.

Qualifications and Experience

Solid understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
Proficient in ERP systems, preferably SAP, with ability to perform transactional tasks.
Capability to reconcile inventory accurately.
Strong customer orientation and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and site staff.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Motivated learner eager to contribute towards process improvements.
Valid High Risk Work Licence (LF Forklift) is mandatory.
Knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

More than three years of experience in warehouse and logistics operations.
Familiarity with production or maintenance settings.
Experience within rail or heavy maintenance industries is highly valued.
Hands-on experience with SAP software.
