Position Overview
The Vice President of Procurement leads the strategic oversight of the company's procurement infrastructure, supplier network, and purchasing operations. This executive role focuses on creating global procurement strategies, optimizing the supply chain, developing supplier relationships, controlling costs, and implementing procurement procedures to support high-quality and competitive supply standards. The aim is to enhance operational efficiency and the company's standing in the international jewelry market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop mid to long-term procurement and supply chain development strategies.
- Enhance procurement systems and optimize supply source planning and cost management.
- Advance global procurement operations to ensure efficiency and supply stability.
- Build and maintain an international supplier network comprising jewelry manufacturers, raw material providers, and strategic partners.
- Assess supplier capabilities and refine the supplier portfolio for quality and reliability.
- Establish enduring cooperative partnerships with suppliers.
- Create and manage procurement processes and standards to improve execution and efficiency.
- Oversee purchasing of precious metals, diamonds, gemstones, jewelry components, and production materials.
- Optimize procurement expenses and strengthen negotiation power to improve profit margins.
- Collaborate with internal departments including production, design, quality, logistics, and sales to align procurement plans with corporate objectives.
- Promote standardized and digitalized supply chain processes to increase responsiveness and efficiency.
- Monitor market pricing trends, raw material volatility, and supply chain risks to inform procurement improvements.
- Establish procurement data analytics for better decision-making and enhanced supply chain competitiveness.
- Manage supply, cost, and compliance risks, ensuring adherence to international trade rules and company policies.
- Develop early-warning systems to safeguard continuous and secure supply chain operations.
Qualifications
- 20 to 25 years of professional experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related fields.
- More than 8 years in senior procurement management roles at the Director level or higher.
- Knowledge of supply chain systems within jewelry, luxury goods, precious metals, diamonds, or premium manufacturing industries preferred.
- Proven expertise in global procurement, international supplier networks, or managing cross-border supply chains preferred.
- Strong skills in strategic planning, supplier negotiations, cost control, and leadership.
