Transport Planner

Role Overview

We are currently seeking a Transport Planner to join a leading food production company located in Anwick. This pivotal position involves the efficient scheduling and coordination of transport functions to support agricultural plans, maintain logistics service levels, and meet cost targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and oversee daily transport needs ensuring adherence to operational timelines.
• Track and assess logistics performance to consistently fulfill service expectations.
• Maintain precise records and handle administrative tasks related to transport operations.
• Collaborate with both internal teams and external partners to address and solve operational challenges.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of two years’ experience in a fast-paced, multi-site logistics or own account operation or 3PL environment.
• Strong analytical skills combined with meticulous attention to geographical details of customer depots.
• Proven ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers and respond swiftly and calmly in problem-solving situations.
• Proficiency in IT tools, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Self-motivated with excellent time management.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation capabilities.

Desired Attributes

• Familiarity with transportation legislation concerning live animals and agricultural produce.
• Experience with automated routing and scheduling software.
• Knowledge of Microlise vehicle telematics systems and data analysis.
• Understanding of tachograph regulations and drivers’ hours.
• Awareness of health, safety, and environmental regulations within demanding manufacturing transport environments.

Work Conditions and Benefits

• Shift pattern: 6:00am to 6:00pm, working 4 days on followed by 4 days off.
• Monthly salary: £2,666.67.
