Role Summary
The Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator will ensure efficient goods movement, maintain accurate inventory, manage logistics provider relationships, and aid the transition to a third-party logistics (3PL) partnership. Working closely with teams across Procurement, Production, Sales, Customer Service, and external partners, the role balances operational tasks with continuous process enhancement while supporting ongoing warehouse consolidation initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage inbound shipments from suppliers to internal warehouses and external 3PL sites.
- Organize transportation using approved courier and freight companies.
- Communicate with suppliers, transporters, and 3PL partners to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
- Track shipment progress and provide delivery updates as necessary.
- Handle customer returns and oversee reverse logistics operations.
- Collaborate with freight forwarders and customs agents to facilitate import shipment clearance and delivery.
- Maintain up-to-date inventory data within the ERP system.
- Coordinate stock movements between internal warehouses and third-party logistics facilities.
- Work with Procurement to maintain adequate stock levels and promptly address replenishment needs.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and support regular stocktaking exercises.
- Ensure manufacturing has the required materials to meet production demands.
- Serve as the primary contact for 3PL providers, overseeing bookings, stock transfers, and inventory checks.
- Monitor logistics service quality and resolve operational challenges.
- Review warehouse and logistics performance metrics in relation to agreed service levels.
- Verify and reconcile storage, handling, and transport billing; address invoice discrepancies.
- Coordinate internal warehouse operations, supporting warehouse staff and goods-in activities during high demand.
- Promote safe, efficient warehouse practices.
- Identify and implement improvements in supply chain, warehouse, and logistics procedures.
- Assist in standard operating procedure development and participate in supply chain consolidation and efficiency projects.
- Generate regular reports on inventory and logistics performance, analyze data, and recommend enhancements.
- Support budget monitoring by tracking logistics expenses and identifying cost reduction opportunities.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal departments and external logistics partners.
- Provide accurate distribution of inventory and delivery information to relevant stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
- Proven background in supply chain management, logistics, inventory control, or warehouse coordination.
- Familiarity with ERP or warehouse management systems.
- Experience coordinating with transport and third-party logistics providers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and adept at reporting.
- Strong organizational, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Desirable: knowledge of 3PL partnerships, manufacturing/distribution sectors, import/export logistics, customs processes, and experience in business improvement projects.
- Personal traits include attention to detail, proactive mindset, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, commercial sensibility, a commitment to continuous improvement, collaboration skills, and adaptability to change.

Additional Information
- Location: Cork, County Cork, Ireland.
- Base salary starting at €50,000, negotiable based on experience.
- Employee benefits include a pension scheme with 5% company and 3% employee contributions and a company phone.
- Reports to the Procurement Manager and Managing Director.
