Role overview
The Store Manager role is responsible for running the Airtel retail store smoothly, ensuring adherence to agreed standards, and delivering a strong customer experience. The position also carries accountability for revenue performance and cost control.
This role sits within the D2C function and reports to the Regional Head, aligned with the Zonal Own Retail Manager structure. The level is Senior Executive / Executive.
Store operations
- Keep store activities aligned with prescribed SOPs and maintain the required store appearance, layout, and presentation standards.
- Monitor inventory closely, perform routine stock verification, and work with supply chain teams to maintain product availability.
- Manage visual merchandising so that displays and store arrangements remain attractive and consistent with the brand.
- Track store transactions and operating budgets carefully to support cost efficiency and financial goals.
- Apply security controls and loss prevention practices to protect stock and assets.
- Ensure the store is ready for official launches and for refit or conversion activities.
Customer experience
- Put processes in place that improve customer satisfaction and speed up issue resolution.
- Deliver a strong in-store experience by offering product guidance, service support, and complaint handling that builds loyalty.
- Measure store performance using KPIs and share regular updates with senior leadership.
People management
- Guide retail staff through coaching, direction, and performance feedback to strengthen service quality and sales output.
- Conduct training sessions as needed to build product knowledge, selling skills, and operational best practices.
- Work with central teams such as marketing, finance, and HR to stay aligned with company policies and to connect in-store and online operations.
Qualifications and experience
A full-time graduate degree is required. An MBA or PGDM is optional. The role expects more than 4 years of experience in retail business operations.
