Position Overview
Joining Walmart Canada as a Stockperson/Cartpusher offers a valuable opportunity to enhance your expertise in retail operations. This role primarily involves collecting shopping carts from designated corrals, parking areas, and around the store, returning them safely to storage, all while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather shopping carts from cart corrals, parking lots, and store perimeter using approved procedures, ensuring all required logs are accurately maintained.
- Promptly assist customers at registers, help with carry-outs and carry-ins, while verifying receipts as proof of purchase.
- Follow guidelines for routine restroom cleaning and maintenance, properly handle chemicals and dispose of waste safely, and operate power equipment after completing inspection reports.
- Observe safety and emergency protocols including hazardous communication, lockout/tagout procedures, and exposure controls for blood borne pathogens.
- Maintain the Cart Retrieval Log at the Customer Service Desk consistently.
- Contribute to a safe, clean, and hazard-free working environment by adhering strictly to company policies and procedures.
- Enhance safety practices by wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel-toe shoes and high-visibility reflective vests during cart collection.
- Perform safety sweeps as assigned to maintain a secure environment.
Compensation
The starting pay rate for this position is $17.75 per hour.
