Job Overview
As a Spray Painter at Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions based in Ras Laffan, Al Khor and Al Thakhira, Qatar, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces and applying coatings to meet client and yard project requirements. The role involves executing cleaning, scrapping, washing, degreasing, power tooling, and painting tasks following supervisor instructions for quality and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform surface preparation tasks including cleaning, scrapping, fresh water washing, degreasing, and power tooling.
- Apply protective coatings to hulls, decks, superstructures, chain lockers, tanks, cargo holds, structural steel, pipelines, and miscellaneous items adhering to standard operating procedures and quality norms.
- Use tools and machinery cautiously to avoid damage and excessive wear.
- Minimize wastage of painting materials and consumables and promptly report any malfunctioning equipment to supervisors.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards in the work area.
- Engage in self-development through on-the-job training and education opportunities.
- Ensure continuity in day-to-day operations related to the role.
- Follow all health, safety, quality, and environmental guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Undertake any other duties assigned by supervisors or group leaders.
- Prioritize personal and colleague wellbeing, adhere to safety protocols, participate in wellness initiatives, and report wellbeing concerns promptly.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess training or certification as a cherry picker and man lift operator.
- Ability to set up painting equipment.
- Completion of trade apprenticeship or secondary school education.
- Minimum of three years of painting experience, preferably in shipyard or offshore industrial projects.

Higher Secondary (Class 12)
