Role Summary
The Site Manager role is a permanent, full-time, on-site position located in Newcastle West, County Limerick. The primary responsibility is managing all daily activities on construction sites from inception through completion. This includes supervising subcontractors and labor forces, ensuring adherence to safety standards, maintaining project schedules, and upholding quality requirements. Coordination with project managers, engineers, and suppliers is essential to monitor progress and promptly resolve on-site challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee site operations and manage labor and subcontractors effectively to ensure timely project progression.
- Implement and enforce health and safety protocols across the site to maintain compliance and minimize risks.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive site records, reports, and documentation.
- Organize logistics including materials and equipment to support uninterrupted site activities.
- Communicate regularly with project stakeholders regarding progress, challenges, and updates.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with building codes and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvements in site procedures and standards to enhance efficiency and quality.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in managing construction sites, coordinating subcontractors, and overseeing daily construction work.
- Strong skills in project planning, scheduling, and monitoring resource utilization and logistics.
- In-depth knowledge of construction health and safety regulations and risk management practices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and other construction documentation accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with clients, teams, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Proactive problem solving, good decision making, and keen organizational ability with high attention to detail.
- Previous Site Manager or equivalent leadership experience in residential and commercial construction projects.
- Possession of relevant construction qualifications such as a diploma or degree in construction management, engineering, or comparable field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with basic IT applications and site reporting software for documentation and scheduling purposes.
- Legal eligibility to work and a commitment to being present full-time on site at Newcastle West.
