Role Overview

As a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks Store #04559 located in Calgary, Alberta’s Market Mall, you will support the store manager by leading store operations during your shifts. This role involves leading partners, delegating tasks, and ensuring that all customers receive the high standard of Starbucks Experience, including exceptional customer service, consistent product quality, and maintaining a welcoming and clean store environment. Key Responsibilities

• Maintain composure during busy or unexpected situations to keep operations running smoothly and set a positive example.
• Proactively assess customer and store needs to respond effectively and create a welcoming 'Third Place' environment.
• Communicate timely information to the store manager to enable responsive team actions.
• Support new partner training by providing positive reinforcement and respectful coaching when needed.
• Offer feedback to the store manager on partner performance during shifts.
• Contribute to a positive work atmosphere by monitoring partner morale and alerting management of changes.
• Promote a learning culture through clear, respectful, and timely coaching to enhance partner performance and operational excellence.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by prioritizing customer needs and building connections.
• Identify and address customer requirements promptly and effectively.
• Foster strong relationships with team members by understanding their motivations and concerns.
• Lead store operations through assigned shifts including organizing opening and closing procedures.
• Follow all Starbucks policies and procedures related to operations, cash handling, safety, and security to ensure partner safety.
• Ensure proper cash management practices are observed by the shift team.
• Monitor baristas to maintain service quality and legendary customer experiences.
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Prepare and serve quality beverages, whole bean coffee, and food items according to recipe and presentation standards.
• Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation regulations for all products.
• Recognize and celebrate individual and team achievements using organizational tools and collaborate with the store manager to find innovative recognition methods.
• Utilize operational tools effectively to meet operational excellence during shifts.

Experience and Skills Required

• Prior customer service experience in retail or restaurant settings.
• Leadership abilities to direct and motivate a team.
• Capacity to quickly absorb new information and processes.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of the retail environment and customer-oriented service.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork orientation.
