Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified veterinary nurse with exceptional organisational abilities and aptitude for managing operations efficiently within our Community Practice team at Massey University. This role offers a dynamic environment where you will coordinate daily workflows, lead teams, and contribute directly to excellent care for patients, clients, students, and staff.
About the Role
The Community Practice department functions in a fast-paced setting collaborating with various hospital sections, offering opportunities to expand your veterinary nursing expertise and skills. As we grow due to increased student demand, you will partner with the current Coordinator to ensure smooth operations while balancing leadership with hands-on nursing tasks.
This role involves Monday to Friday daytime shifts and participation in an on-call roster approximately once every twelve weeks that includes weekends and public holidays, promoting a good work-life balance.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates are compassionate veterinary nurses comfortable managing busy environments and juggling multiple responsibilities with professionalism and empathy. Key qualifications include a Diploma or Bachelor equivalent in Veterinary Nursing or Technology and a minimum of two years experience in general practice nursing. Experience in general anaesthesia and surgical nursing is required, alongside demonstrated or aspiring leadership skills. You will have a genuine interest in supporting veterinary students’ education and must be eligible to work in New Zealand.

Salary Range
The salary is aligned with Grade 5, ranging between NZD 60,069 and 84,876, based on expertise and experience.
