About the Role
Join Pushpay in Auckland as a Senior Front-End Software Engineer responsible for shaping the platform that supports the next generation of products. This role focuses on developing the foundation for frontend features rather than just building them, driving a major modernization of legacy systems to a React and Typescript-centered ecosystem. You'll be expanding a shared design system and creating a centralized frontend portal for multiple engineering teams, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Address architectural challenges and develop systems that enhance developer productivity
- Define and implement frontend architecture, patterns, and standards for organizational use
- Lead the transition from legacy frontend systems to modern React and Typescript solutions
- Grow and improve a shared design component library used across product teams
- Create a unified frontend portal enabling smooth integration with various domain teams
- Deliver robust, scalable software with frequent production deployments
- Conduct code reviews, mentor peers, and influence engineering best practices
Technical Environment
- Frontend development with React and Typescript
- NodeJS services supporting frontend operations and integrations
- Shared design system and component library use across products
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines
- Development collaboration via code reviews and design discussions
- Cloud infrastructure hosted on AWS with strong security and compliance focus
Candidate Profile
- Proficient in Typescript and React framework
- Strong foundational knowledge in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Experience building services with NodeJS
- Competent in designing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with GraphQL is advantageous
- Experience with Git version control and workflows
- Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MS SQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB)
- Working experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
- Understanding of microservices and distributed architectures
- Exposure to CI/CD automation and testing methodologies
- Experience with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, or Kinesis
