Role Summary
The Senior Project & Site Manager is accountable for overall project success, managing everything from planning and execution to customer communication and budget control. This role serves as the primary contact for clients from proposal through post-delivery support and oversees the Silicon Valley facility’s daily operations. Projects are typically custom, requiring integration of technical knowledge and data analysis from diverse sources.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop project proposals, estimate margins, and plan presentation approaches in collaboration with management.
- Lead and manage multi-disciplinary project teams through all stages: concept design, system design, integration, acceptance, and factory installation.
- Maintain effective communication with customers, updating them on progress, scope, issues, schedules, and technical matters throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project budgets, incorporating quotations, engineering change orders, and purchase orders.
- Create and maintain internal and customer-facing project schedules, coordinating all deliverables to meet deadlines.
- Assist in manpower planning for projects alongside department managers.
- Monitor and control project finances by tracking material and labor costs, making adjustments as necessary.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies proactively.
- Ensure project alignment with scope, cost, schedule, and technical requirements by monitoring resources continuously.
- Oversee procurement operations to ensure timely delivery of materials per schedule.
- Organize and lead design review sessions to ensure adherence to project requirements.
- Provide regular job status updates to management.
- Handle multiple and complex projects simultaneously.
- Support sales efforts for assigned accounts, clarify RFQs, oversee proposal development, and collaborate with sales personnel to present proposals.
- Guide the Applications Engineering team in proposal preparation, defining scopes and initial design concepts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- At least 8 years of relevant project management experience, preferably in test and development environments.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Strong technical understanding across electrical, mechanical, and software engineering principles.
- Good grasp of commercial aspects related to contract engineering.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building abilities.
- Effective communication skills for articulating product benefits and project status.
- Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities to manage priorities and workloads efficiently.
- Adept at working under pressure to meet deadlines within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated with strong initiative and a proactive approach to work.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect intellectual property, including sensitive regulatory compliances (ITAR, Prototype).
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in smaller to mid-sized companies and ability to resolve ambiguous challenges independently.

Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range of $120,000 to $160,000 based on location, experience, and skillset.

Physical Requirements

- Minimal travel required, less than 5% of the time.
