Senior Project Manager

About the Role

A client of Taleo Project Services Inc is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager for a full-time contract position based onsite in Leduc, Alberta. This role demands a versatile project management professional with a broad skillset to oversee various IT initiatives including infrastructure, operations, and application projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans including charters, timelines, and budgets, and oversee their execution.
• Organize and schedule team resources and communicate project plans effectively.
• Collaborate with leadership from Technology and Innovation departments and business teams to manage trade-offs and align project goals.
• Lead integrated project teams by coordinating tasks, assigning accountability, supporting decision-making, and resolving issues swiftly.
• Work closely with stakeholders, vendors, and contractors to facilitate project progress.
• Apply lessons learned to minimize risks and enhance project delivery.
• Ensure projects meet deadlines and stay within budget constraints.
• Adapt to requirements such as night work or monitoring during change windows when necessary.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Project and Visio.
• Ability to provide clear, business-oriented communication and reporting.
• Experience communicating effectively with diverse team members across disciplines.
• 10-15 years of project management experience.
• PMP certification is mandatory.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, particularly in managing cross-functional integrated project teams.
