Role Overview

The Senior Procurement Officer position is a full-time, onsite role located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The incumbent manages comprehensive procurement functions, handling supplier sourcing, issuing purchase orders, and supervising purchasing operations to ensure timely and economical acquisition of goods and services. This role involves leading contract negotiations, cultivating vendor partnerships, and adhering to internal policies and regulatory requirements. Daily activities include market trend and price analysis, supplier performance evaluation, coordination with internal departments to capture procurement needs, and generating procurement reports to aid strategic decision-making.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience in procurement and purchasing activities with expertise in sourcing and supplier management.
• Proficient in drafting, negotiating, and managing purchase orders and contracts with suppliers.
• Strong analytical capabilities to interpret procurement data, evaluate costs, and contribute to strategic purchasing decisions.
• Holds a relevant bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related fields; professional procurement certifications are advantageous.
• Proven track record in senior or leadership procurement positions, particularly within trading, export, or agribusiness sectors.
• Excellent communication, negotiation skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with procurement software and Microsoft Office applications; understanding of international trade regulations is a plus.
