Job description

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science degree or its equivalent in an engineering field. Certification such as PMP or similar professional memberships is preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 15 years of experience in project planning within the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Preferably a minimum of 5 years working with National or International Oil Companies.
  • Proficient in tasks including project scheduling, phasing, control, monitoring, forecasting, progress verification, risk evaluation, and handling variations or claims analysis.
  • Advanced computer skills with MS Office and project control tools, especially Primavera; familiarity with Primavera Risk Analysis and Power BI is advantageous.
  • Previous professional experience in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and reporting abilities are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and keep up-to-date comprehensive Project Master Plans and schedules across all project phases from initiation through close-out, integrating inputs for key deliverables such as Project Execution Plans, Risk Registers, and Change Management Plans.
  • Manage project close-out activities and contribute to the preparation of final project close-out reports.
  • Conduct project planning activities including scheduling, monitoring, forecasting, and preparing progress reports on various intervals (weekly to annual), supporting management reports and maintaining Project Builder data in SAP.
  • Identify early warning signs and opportunities for intervention by collaborating with project teams and producing insightful reports to influence outcomes positively.
  • Update and manage Integrated Resource Planning systems to forecast resource demands based on project master plans.
  • Develop and integrate planning, scheduling, progress measurement, and reporting requirements into tender documentation to ensure bidder compliance.
  • Review and evaluate technical proposals from bidders to assure alignment with tender specifications, focusing on scheduling, resource planning, and reporting methodologies.
  • Assess and approve contractors' planning packages including execution programs, resource plans, and progress reporting frameworks for conformity with contractual duties.
  • Oversee contractor performance through variance and progress analysis, validating reports and recommending corrective or mitigating actions as necessary.
  • Perform schedule risk and "what if" analyses to anticipate and quantify impacts of changes and define mitigation strategies.
  • Estimate monthly progress for assigned contracts to support valuation of completed work for financial processes including Service Entry Sheets.
  • Validate progress reports with stakeholders and support budget preparation, revisions, and supplementary budgeting by providing pertinent scheduling input.
  • Analyse schedule variances and their causes to contribute to budget variance reporting.
  • Evaluate time impact related to scope changes and contractor extension of time claims using recognized international standards.
  • Engage in the formulation and implementation of project planning procedures and work instructions.
