Senior Manager, Strategic Planning

Role Overview

The Strategic Planning team seeks a driven professional to contribute to shaping Singapore's tourism sector future. This role involves identifying opportunities and risks and developing medium- to long-term strategies supporting the Tourism 2040 roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with government agencies such as MTI and MND/URA along with STB's Analytics and Insights team to evaluate past tourism performance and produce projections for near and long-term outcomes.
• Conduct economic impact analyses of policy changes affecting tourism, recommending suitable economic models and reviewing methodologies with relevant stakeholders.
• Analyze contributors and drivers towards achieving Tourism 2040 targets including tourism receipts, IVA, and productivity.
• Set targets for tourism performance metrics in coordination with STB units ensuring alignment to overall sector goals.
• Prepare quarterly performance and industry outlook reports for MTI.
• Manage reporting platforms and coordinate updates for MTI senior management concerning STB’s KPIs and priorities.
• Engage in long-term futures planning to identify trends, competitive threats, blind spots, and opportunities impacting Singapore tourism's future.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

You will interact with all business teams internally, gaining comprehensive exposure to the tourism landscape. Externally, work closely with MTI and various government agencies to integrate economic development initiatives.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in economic modeling, impact analysis, and data analytics.
• Strong analytical capabilities complemented by excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to think strategically, independently analyze data sets, and connect complex insights.
• Experience in the government sector is an advantage.
• Demonstrate sound business acumen, analytical judgment, and effective collaboration within and outside STB.
• Commitment to service excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
