Role overview
Our client is a respected public sector body at the heart of Ireland’s economic and financial system, responsible for a broad and complex set of national duties while contributing to long-term strategic goals across several areas of the business. An opening has been created for an accomplished Senior HR Manager to join a high-performing People team on a 14-month fixed-term contract. Reporting directly to the Head of HR, this position works closely with senior leaders to provide both strategic and operational people support that aligns with organisational priorities. In the role of trusted advisor, you will help drive key initiatives across employee relations, recruitment, engagement, reward, organisational development, performance management, and wider HR strategy.
This opportunity is well suited to an experienced HR Business Partner who enjoys working in a collaborative, commercially aware setting and can move comfortably between strategic partnering and day-to-day execution.
Key responsibilities
- Work alongside senior leaders to shape and deliver HR plans that support business goals.
- Develop strong relationships with stakeholders and offer practical, commercially minded guidance and constructive challenge.
- Support workforce planning and recruitment approaches.
- Handle complex employee relations issues, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance cases.
- Coach managers on good practice while ensuring consistency and compliance.
- Contribute to the development of HR policies in line with legislation and current best practice.
- Partner on reward, benefits, and career framework work.
- Support initiatives that improve engagement, wellbeing, and culture.
- Use people data and analytics to support decisions and identify improvement opportunities.
- Make effective use of HR systems, including SAP SuccessFactors, for reporting and insight generation.
- Assist with HR projects, including transformation and process enhancement.
- Act as a senior contributor within the HR function and support wider strategic priorities.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in an HR Business Partner or senior generalist role.
- CIPD qualification and a relevant third-level degree.
- Strong understanding of Irish employment law and modern HR practice.
- Demonstrated experience resolving complex employee relations matters.
- Background in working with senior stakeholders and supporting change programmes.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Experience using HR systems; SAP SuccessFactors would be an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong influencing skills.
- Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Professional judgement, discretion, and close attention to detail.
- Exposure to reward, organisational development, or HR transformation work is beneficial.
