Senior Contract Specialist

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Contract Specialist to join Alftek International in Doha, Qatar. This role demands a seasoned professional with a comprehensive background in engineering, quantity surveying, law, or a related field and extensive expertise in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, or related disciplines.
• Chartered membership with a professional body such as RICS, ICES, or CIArb is required.
• Extensive experience spanning at least 18 years in major infrastructure projects or programs, with a mandatory minimum of one large scale PPP project involvement both pre- and post-contract phases.
• Possess a valid driving license.
• Demonstrated expertise in contract formation and administration on PPP initiatives, including assessing claims and variations.
• In-depth understanding of various contractual frameworks including FIDIC, governmental contract forms, and DBOM, alongside international laws and conditions.
• Experience with procurement practices, tender evaluation, and recommendation formulation for PPP and consultancy contracts.
• Skilled in drafting and negotiating complex PPP agreements.
• Preference given to candidates with background in Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants and Pumping Stations.
• Postgraduate qualifications such as a Master’s degree, MBA in PPP, Public Administration, or related fields are favorable.
• Proficiency in Arabic language and prior professional experience within Qatar or the Gulf region on PPP projects will be considered an advantage.
• Solid understanding of international economic trends and market conditions is essential.
