Job description
Position Overview
We are offering an exciting opportunity to become a Senior Airport Services Agent within our Ground Services team based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. This role entails delivering exceptional customer service to passengers, including check-in, boarding, special assistance, lounge access, and baggage handling according to Qatar Airways' commercial and safety guidelines. Ensuring consistent and smooth handling of passengers and their luggage is central to this position.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain continuous communication with check-in counters, transfer desks, and related departments to facilitate seamless passenger acceptance.
- Coordinate closely with check-in and transfer desks while supporting the Airport Services Supervisor across various functions.
- Guide and escort arriving and departing travelers to designated areas such as hotel desks, visa counters, transfer desks, premium lounges, and boarding gates.
- Assist the duty officer with managing company materials and documentation.
- Collaborate with Ground Handling Agents (GHA) to expedite processing of hotel and transfer passengers.
- Work jointly with GHAs to ensure smooth passenger service delivery.
- Provide passengers with information and assistance relating to entry requirements, visas, and residence permits.
- Ensure that passengers navigate airport facilities efficiently and comfortably.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned to promote overall operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications and Skills
- Prior customer service experience, with at least one year in Airport Operations for a reputable airline.
- A dynamic, energetic, and positive attitude to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Experience with Departure Control Systems (DCS) and ticketing knowledge is advantageous.
- Willingness and ability to work in rotational shifts as required.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
- Strong knowledge of Amadeus reservation system is highly preferred.
- Legal authorization to reside and work in Nigeria is mandatory.
