The organization supports early college students via tuition-free educational programs alongside career guidance, community building, and ongoing Alumni support aimed at professional growth and retention in the industry. With thousands of members including over 4,000 alumni and 130 partner firms, GWI boasts a strong network with more than 75% alumni retention within investment careers.

Position Overview

The Senior Admissions Officer role reports to the Director of Recruiting and Admissions and plays a pivotal role in candidate selection for GWI’s various programs, including retention and advancement initiatives for alumni. Responsibilities extend to supporting data-driven recruitment, outreach, and communications, engaging in both virtual and in-person recruitment events. This position also provides essential logistical, analytical, administrative, and technical support to enhance the admissions and recruiting functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate as an admissions committee member selecting cohorts for the Scholars Program and Alumni Retention and Advancement Programs.
  • Conduct holistic application reviews during admission cycles, handling variable application volumes across years.
  • Contribute to managing seasonal application readers and processing application documentation.
  • Assist with annual evaluation and enhancement of applications using data analysis and feedback to improve program offerings.
  • Lead and support execution of year-round strategic outreach and recruitment plans, including virtual and in-person informational sessions and alumni panels.
  • Manage recruitment administrative tasks on external platforms, such as event creation, promotions, registrant tracking, and operational coordination.
  • Coordinate recruitment-related alumni initiatives and nurture partnerships with educational institutions and community organizations.
  • Support applicant communication campaigns, promotional content creation, digital outreach, and social media activities.
  • Oversee daily management of the application inbox, providing prompt responses and document processing.
  • Develop communication materials for recruiting and admission platforms, letters, and presentations.
  • Maintain database integrity for targeted outreach and accurate records.
  • Participate in internship matching processes and cooperate across teams to advance the mission.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 to 4 years of recent experience with selective admissions processes.
  • Expertise in comprehensive evaluation and holistic application assessments with experience managing high application volumes.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities focused on collaboration and customer service.
  • Strong project management aptitude with the ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks.
  • High attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Slate CRM or similar platforms covering reader navigation, event registration, record management, and reporting.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License.

Location and Work Schedule

This hybrid role is based in New York City, requiring 1 to 3 days per week in the office depending on seasonal demands, with occasional recruitment travel. Evening and weekend availability during peak periods is expected.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 annually, dependent on experience, education, and qualifications. The organization offers a competitive benefits package. Internally, the position is titled Recruiting & Admissions Analyst.
