About the role
Curri is hiring a Senior Accountant to join its Finance team in the United States. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this role works closely with Finance, Operations, and Product to support the monthly close process and strengthen the company’s operational accounting as it grows. A key part of the role is helping refine billing workflows, roll out accounting systems, and deliver projects that increase speed, accuracy, and scalability across finance.
The right candidate has a strong accounting base, enjoys improving processes, and can operate comfortably in a fast-moving environment where change is constant.
Key responsibilities
- Own month-end close tasks, including revenue recognition, prepaid balances, accruals, and management reporting.
- Learn current operational accounting workflows quickly and work with stakeholders across the business to improve and scale them.
- Support the rollout of new ERP software to strengthen and expand accounting operations.
- Build on the current reporting framework to identify inconsistencies in financial data and improve reporting accuracy.
- Contribute to ad hoc initiatives, system integrations, and reporting needs as they arise.
- Ensure accounting policies and procedures remain aligned with professional standards, audit expectations, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- 3 to 6 years of experience in accounting and finance.
- At least 4 years of experience in a startup or other fast-paced accounting setting.
- Advanced Excel capability, including the ability to build and troubleshoot complex formulas.
- Strong operational accounting experience with an interest in designing connected processes and systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities.
- Strong curiosity about data and the ability to turn it into useful insights.
- High ownership mindset and a bias for taking action.
- Confidence to voice ideas and influence across teams.
- Experience using AI tools in accounting or finance workflows.
- Bonus consideration for candidates with a CPA or similar accounting credential.
- Bonus consideration for candidates with startup experience.
- Bonus consideration for candidates who can read and write SQL and who are familiar with BI tools.
