As a Senior Accountant on this team, you will join a remote, close-knit team accountable for ensuring the accuracy of loan-level and warehouse-line financial information, from daily funding transactions to month-end closure. This role is critical in guaranteeing timely and precise accounting for all home loan financials.
About The Role

This role offers the opportunity to enhance and automate current procedures to improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily reconciliations between loan origination activities and warehouse bank funding, investigating discrepancies to ensure cash and loan balances reconcile.
- Act as the accounting contact for ZHL’s warehouse bank partners by reviewing daily funding and paydown reports, validating new banking file formats, and coordinating user acceptance testing with bank system/report updates.
- Lead assigned responsibilities during the month-end close process by completing tasks and approvals within FloQast, meeting deadlines with thorough and well-documented workpapers.
- Compute and reconcile monthly financial covenant compliance for warehouse lines across banking partners.
- Create and maintain reconciliations and reports summarizing daily flow of funds by each bank.
Who You Are
- Possess 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, including monthly closing procedures, reconciliations, and preparing journal entries.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA certification or candidacy is a plus.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of US GAAP and general ledger practices.
- Have advanced proficiency in Excel and experience handling large datasets.
- Exhibit excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage recurring close cycles under deadlines.
- Communicate clearly and effectively when researching issues, explaining variances, and collaborating across finance, banking partners, and technical teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in mortgage, banking, or financial services accounting, especially warehouse lending or loan servicing.
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and reporting tools such as Workday, Databricks, or FloQast.
- Involvement in accounting automation or process improvement projects.
- Knowledge of SOX controls and audit processes.
