Role Summary

The Security Guard role is a full-time, on-location position based in Lusaka. The incumbent will be entrusted with protecting the company's premises, assets, and personnel by conducting regular patrols and managing access points. Key activities involve verifying identifications, overseeing freight and cargo movements within restricted zones, adhering strictly to security procedures, and documenting any incidents or irregularities. The guard will respond promptly to alarms and emergencies and coordinate with supervisors and official authorities as needed. Maintaining professionalism and effectively communicating with visitors, clients, and transport staff are essential aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine patrols to secure company facilities and monitor unauthorized access.
• Control entry and exit points by checking identification and managing access permissions.
• Supervise movement and handling of freight and cargo within operation zones to prevent loss or damage.
• Ensure full compliance with established security protocols and standards.
• Respond immediately to security alerts and emergencies, coordinating with relevant parties.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate security logs.
• Engage professionally with visitors, clients, and transport personnel to provide information and uphold a secure environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience in physical security roles involving patrols, surveillance, and access control.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills for effective communication with various stakeholders.
• Understanding of private security practices, confidentiality, and risk management.
• Capability to stay alert and composed under emergency or high-pressure situations.
• Basic proficiency in report writing and attention to detail for accurate documentation.
• Good physical condition to undertake prolonged walking, standing, and patrolling duties.
• Previous security or related logistics environment experience is preferred.
• Possession of relevant security certifications or training, with a clear background record and familiarity with local security regulations.
