Role Overview
As a Sales Operations Specialist, you will bring data-driven clarity to complex sales data, commission models, and reporting to enhance commercial operations. Your expertise will connect multiple data systems, reveal revenue insights, and enhance operational excellence across the commercial function.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute commercial commission plans quarterly, ensuring accurate data validation, calculation, and adherence to diverse compensation structures, including usage-based models.
- Act as the primary liaison between Salesforce and Looker platforms to identify and rectify data discrepancies for precise commission processing.
- Create, update, and analyze impactful reports and dashboards tailored for various audiences such as sales leadership, executives, board members, and investors.
- Utilize analytics to weave together data from multiple sources, crafting clear business narratives that highlight trends, gaps, and growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with sales teams and leadership to define, automate, and monitor critical business KPIs, pipeline quality metrics, and recurring executive reports.
- Support strategic commercial planning by assisting with data modeling, forecasting, quota allocation, and territory scenario analyses.
- Engage effectively with diverse stakeholders including sales reps and executives, employing critical thinking to navigate and solve challenges without prescribed procedures.
- Perform root cause analyses on data inconsistencies across platforms and billing systems, implementing improvements to prevent future issues.
Required Qualifications
- 4 to 6 years of experience in Commercial, Revenue, Sales, or Business Operations.
- Advanced expertise in Excel/Google Sheets and BI tools such as Looker (preferred), Tableau, or PowerBI, with strong data audit and gap-tracing abilities.
- Proficient Salesforce user skills including reporting, dashboard creation, custom views, and sales pipeline analysis.
- Skilled in translating complex and unstructured datasets into actionable insights understandable to non-technical stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a rigorous, audit-focused mindset; adept at managing multiple deadlines in fast-paced environments, especially during quarterly closes.
- Preferred knowledge of MedTech sector, consumption-based pricing, and healthcare technology sales models.
- Self-driven, critical thinker capable of independently managing recurring responsibilities and proactively identifying business needs.
- Strong business logic intuition to detect data discrepancies proactively without external prompts.
- Comfortable handling ambiguity by investigating unclear data challenges and delivering structured solutions with minimal guidance.
Bonus Attributes
- Basic to intermediate SQL skills for data warehouse querying and troubleshooting.
- Experience with advanced Salesforce ecosystem components such as CPQ, Advanced Forecasting, and territory management tools.
- Familiarity with incentive compensation management software like CaptivateIQ, QuotaPath, or Everstage.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation varies by location and experience, aligned with market standards. Candidates in higher-cost US states typically occupy the middle to high salary range; others fall into the low to mid-range. This role offers a base salary between $90,000 and $115,000 plus a 10% target annual bonus, totaling target compensation of $99,000 to $126,500. Additional rewards include stock options and benefits.
